President Ilham Aliyev Meets Carlsberg Group CEO in Davos

On January 19, Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Jacob Aarup-Andersen, Chief Executive Officer of Carlsberg Group, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

During the meeting, both sides noted that a number of strategic projects have already been successfully implemented to ensure the production of fully locally sourced products in Azerbaijan. These initiatives reflect Carlsberg Group’s long-term commitment to localization, sustainability, and value creation within the country.

Discussions highlighted the operation of the barley malt processing facility in Imishli, which plays a critical role as a key raw material base for beer production. The parties also underlined that localization of packaging materials is progressing and is expected to be fully achieved in the future, further strengthening local supply chains.

Jacob Aarup-Andersen emphasized that exports of Carlsberg Group products manufactured in Azerbaijan recorded a significant increase in 2025, demonstrating the growing international competitiveness of locally produced goods.

The meeting also expressed mutual satisfaction with the favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan, which continues to create strong opportunities for foreign investors and supports sustainable industrial development.
