The 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum was held in Baku on 25–26 September, bringing together leading global investors, representatives of government institutions and international financial organisations, as well as business leaders.

Carlsberg Group participated in the Forum with a high-level delegation comprising Nikos Kalaitzidakis, Executive Vice-President Central Eastern Europe & India, Krasimir Lazarov, Managing Director of Carlsberg Azerbaijan, Christian Wulff Soendergaard, VP Corporate Affairs Carlsberg Group, Troels Libak Stollberg, Head of Legal & Compliance CEEI Carlsberg Group, Yuliya Stelmakh, Senior Corporate Affairs Director CEEI & Carlsberg Ukraine, Lala Afandi, Corporate Affairs Director for the Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Azerbaijan markets and Yagub Alizade, Business & Commercial Development Director Carlsberg Azerbaijan.

As part of the Forum, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with Nikos Kalaitzidakis, EVP CEEI Carlsberg Group. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between Carlsberg Group and Azerbaijan, as well as the progress made under the Memorandum of Understanding covering the period of 2025–2029.

The discussions also focused on improving regulatory mechanisms in the beer industry, localizing raw materials and packaging materials, and creating new business opportunities in the region.

As part of the Forum, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Carlsberg Group signed a “Strategic Partnership and Investment Framework Agreement” covering the period of 2027–2033.

In addition, Christian Wulff Soendergaard, VP Corporate Affairs Carlsberg Group, participated in the Forum’s panel discussions and delivered a speech on “Industrial Platforms and Free Economic Zones: Azerbaijan as a Regional Manufacturing Hub.”

The ceremony for the exchange of documents signed within the framework of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum was held on 26 September in the presence of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
